Criminal Matters
As a former Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Lee has extensive training and experience in criminal matters. We represent clients in all offenses from the most serious felonies and misdemeanors to violations and traffic infractions. Any accusation by the police or government can be frightening or distrubing. We carefully listen to your version of what happened, attend every court session with you, explain the court system, and explain your rights. We frequently prevent our clients from receiving criminal records and often obtain very favorable settlements for our clients without the financial and emotional ordeal of a trial.
For those matters requiring trial, we have years of experience in providing you zealous and competent representation at trial.
Driving While Intoxicated
We appear for clients throughout Nassau, Suffolk, the five boroughs and upstate courts to handle driving while intoxicated and driving while impaired charges. In New York State, driving while intoxicated is a crime carrying a criminal record and up to 180 days incarceration, license revocation and heavy fines. A second DWI is a felony carrying up to 4 years incarceration. Police and district attorneys are seizing the cars of those arrested for driving while intoxicated or driving while impaired.
We carefully analyze what happened, attend every court session with you, explain the court system, and explain your rights. We frequently prevent our clients from receiving criminal records and we help them obtain driving privileges again.
For those matters requiring trial, we have years of experience in providing you zealous and competent representation at trial.
Divorce - Matrimonial matters
We represent clients in contested and uncontested divorces, in the negotiation and preparation of separation agreements & prenuptual agreements, and in resolving issues of custody, visitation, maintenance, child support, and orders of protection.
We will listen to your problems and concerns, and explain the applicable law and your rights to you. We will attempt to resolve your issues without proceeding to Court. If we cannot, we will help you prepare your case for Court hearings and trial.
We will help you plan and prepare for life after your matter is concluded. Divorce and separation can be painful and frightening, but you do not need to handle it alone.
Real Estate
We have helped many clients and their families purchase, sell and refinance their homes, condominiums, cooperative apartments and investment properties.
We are also able to assist you through the mortgage application process, handling title problems, and obtaining experts to perform house inspections and termite and pest inspections.
Personal Injury - Accidents
We have prosecuted cases involving automobile accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, assaults, and obtained substantial money damages for our clients.
There is no fee unless we collect money for you.
Traffic Court, Suspended License
We appear for clients throughout Nassau, Suffolk, the five boroughs and upstate courts to handle traffic infractions and suspended licenses. In 1993, driving with a suspended license became a misdemeanor carrying a criminal record and up to 30 days incarceration in New York State. With penalties like that and insurance companies using any excuse they can to raise your rates, you can't afford to make any mistakes with your tickets or with your license.
We have experience as traffic court prosecutors and as attorneys representing clients in all types of traffic infractions, DWI and suspended license charges. When you retain us, we handle your tickets, evaluate your complete department of motor vehicle history, and recommend the best way to resolve your pending tickets and to obtain a new license or restore your privileges to drive on your old license.
For most traffic infractions, we are able to appear in court without you and resolve the matter so you don't miss a day or night of work.
Wills, Trusts and Estates
We can assist you in drafting wills, trusts, health care proxies and living wills. If a loved one passes away, we can represent you in a probate or administration proceeding in the Surrogate's Court. If you already have a will, we will review it for you and advise you if any changes are necessary in light of the rapidly changing estate laws.
Our associated experts can help you with estate planning so that your assets and your home are protected in the event you required long term care, and so that you can avoid probate altogether.
Bankruptcy
We have helped clients stop foreclosure, protect their homes, reduce or eliminate credit card debt, judgments and end wage garnishments.
When illness, disability, divorce, loss of a business, layoffs, declining pension benefits, or other financial hardships threaten your financial security, we can evaluate your situation, counsel you on the best ways to handle your creditors, advise you as to the benefits and drawbacks to bankruptcy, and help you complete your bankruptcy in a proper and professional manner.
With our assistance, many of our clients have obtained the help they need to gain control over their finances again and make a new start.
